Runway, Sora, Veo, and batch-generation tools are often compared as if they were interchangeable model menus. In practice, the workflow around the model determines how quickly a scene list becomes an editable set of clips.
Start from the input you already have
If you have only a creative idea, an interactive tool may be best for developing the first shot. If you have a script, storyboard, spreadsheet, or folder of source frames, a batch workflow can preserve that structure through generation.
GenBatch focuses on batch video production from prompt lists, CSV data, and supported source-image workflows. It is not a timeline editor and does not currently provide Veo as a default generation backend.
Text-to-video or image-to-video?
Use text-to-video when the composition can be invented from the prompt. Describe the subject, environment, action, camera movement, lighting, and pace.
Use image-to-video when the starting composition already matters. Let the source image establish appearance and framing; use the motion prompt for movement, camera behavior, tempo, and elements that should remain stable.
Evaluate a workflow with five scenes
Choose a small test containing different kinds of risk:
- a face or recurring subject;
- a wide environmental shot;
- a fast or complex movement;
- a subtle camera move; and
- a scene that must cut cleanly beside another clip.
Judge usable duration, motion stability, prompt adherence, visual continuity, retry effort, and download organization. A headline quality comparison misses the operational cost of turning isolated clips into a finished sequence.
Prepare for editing before generation
Give every row a stable scene ID and decide the aspect ratio before submitting. Leave handles around important action where possible, and keep dialogue, captions, transitions, and sound design in the editing stage unless the chosen generation workflow explicitly supports them.
